I'm in awe of sh*t like this. Amazing.

How you can turn something so decrepit into something so pristine blows my mind. Dedication!

Thanks, it's taken about 10 months from start to finish but it's not the only car we've been working on.

I spent a couple of months welding it up!

Just shows anything can be saved!

Wow! Incredible workmanship and an amazing result! Looks so good in red too!
Was the car a customers project, or one picked up by your work?

Hats off to you, I am blown away that you managed to get that pile of scrap to look brand new. Out of curiosity, is the cost of the restoration worth it in terms of the cost and the value of it afterwards?

Wow, amazing!

Out of interest how much did that cost and how much profit was in the job?

It's a Car my boss bought as a pair from the states.

He had someone wanting him to build one so we did.

He has 2 more roadsters to do and 2 fixed heads on the way from the states.

I've told him i'm leaving, he's hoping we won't go!

I would've said so, I don't deal with financial side of things but he realistically thinks it's worth £180,000, but there some cars going for ridiculous figures.
I Did a fixed head coupe a while back and it's now up for sale for £295,000!!

Not sure but It probably cost around 60k to do. But I don't know what he paid or how long he's had it so if I said 40k totalling £100k he'll get 180k so 80k for 10 months work. Even if it was 120k it's well worth it.

That looks amazing and to think the first and latter photos are the same car almost blows the mind lol! The 4.2 is arguably the most desirable too so i'd imagine there's still room for a big profit in there. Can only imagine how many man hours that took!!

I think you should start on your own. Get a small business loan and get a couple of rotten capri's or escorts and build up model wise from there.
Is that something you'd fancy out of interest.? @m&l172ph1

Totally agree with th above. You're doing all this hard work and handing it to someone on a plate to scoop up the profit

Did consider it. I had a go a couple of years ago. It was ok but I concentrated on the metalwork, which is the worst part without seeing the benefits. Until we had a couple of losses in the family and I was sick of doing jobs for months and having no money in between. Hence we ended up in n. Ireland looking for a new start and now just want to go back!
The problem is cars are getting dearer, they take far too long to do! i have to support my family which makes it very hard.

If you search Lloyd classic and retro on Facebook my old page is still active.

Superb work. One of the prettiest cars ever made in the best colour - Carmen red? The steering rack looks miles away from the steering wheel compared with a modern car/ hatch!
