Yeah but next gen should be close.

Either way,

akt6JnB.webp

Yeah the difference hopefully wont be that big. Love that ^^

Ubisoft conference currently showing 'The Crew' - looks so damn cool. They're playing on Xbox One.

Ubisoft just announced a game by Massive Entertainment called 'The Division'. Massive Online Open World RPG. Looks so damn epic!

WTF!!!! Been watching sony conference for over an hour they have shown 4 games! Yes, ONLY 4 GAMES!!

They spent 10-15 talking about Netflix, Crackle, Youtube etc!! WTF THEY HAD THIS IN THE BAG!!!!!!!!!

what have they done!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!

All they had to do was come out with GAMES and more games!! With the news against Xbox one sony could have run away with this!

People on other gaming forums are almost crying saying "wtf have they done!!"

The ps4 loooks like a slanted Xbox One / PS2.

They are talking about 2D games for the past 4 minutes now!!

edit: THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT 17 BIT GAMES!!! LIKE ATARI GAMES!!!!! WTF ITS A NEXT GEN LAUNCH!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!!!

1.5 hours in, the only gameplay for PS4 = assassins creed (demo lagged and froze)

and now Watchdogs... again.... I saw this at the Ubisoft conference and its a multiplatform game.

SHOW SOMETHING FIRST PARTY / ORIGINAL Sony WTF are you doing!?!?!?!?????

PS4 does not require an internet connection and you can trade / sell games. No DRM. Confirmed!!!!

BUT where the F**K are the games?!??!?!!

Sony just lined up the crosshairs and delivered a headshot to MS. I'll be interested to see if tonight's announcement provokes a u-turn with the Xbox One in the coming months.

Lol at fake dk.

Sony nailed it IMO. Outplayed Microsoft on all points.

All points??

The advantages of PS4 are no DRM and its £80 cheaper. Although PSN is no longer free.

The Xbox One conference showed countless exclusives, tonnes of gameplay, has the biggest online gaming network in the world, hosted server games and tonnes more features. The Sony conference was dying and had only shown 3 gameplay demos in over an hour and a half! People all over were b**ching. No DRM saved them with the lower price point.

Still not sold on PS4, still sticking with Xbox One. Overall a much better service with tonnes of games and exclusives.

Lol.
I still think I'll be getting the ps4. How many games are you actually going to play at launch anyway? I'm sure there will be more than enough to keep me entertained.
I just want my console to be a games machine, sure I watch Love film and Netflix on my ps3 now but it's hardly a necessity.
Xbone cocked up with the pre owned games and the online check, which I think they might backtrack with in the future.

@ £350 i'll have a PS4 sitting under my TV on launch day even if there arn't many games i want on it yet....:p

I've got the PS3 and 360. But I can't decide which to upgrade (I can't justify both, with the little gaming time I have as it is).

For me.

Xbox > PS

Dashboard
Party/friend chat
Controller

PS > Xbox

Cheaper
No DRM

That pretty much sums it up for me, I'm not bothered by Kinect, watching TV etc.

This shows how little I play the PS3, but does it have party chat (like Xbox live?)

Yes,
Price and spec. The games WILL get better in time, developers will have more scope on the PS4 H/W than the Xbox, it's obvious.

But Xbox has for me, better interface, community and initial games line up. Certainly not clear cut which one I'm getting yet.

Also you need to factor in how many 360' might break ;) I've had 4 360's since launch,
add on Xbox live for 6 years I'm looking at 2K.

High end gaming PC is looking tempting.

I didn't see the Ubisoft or Sony presentations, are there any vids of The Division and is it a PS4 exclusive?

I think everyone is over-looking the obvious, people are creature of habits. If they had an Xbox before, they will have an Xbox again. Because their friends do, or their work colleagues do etc. This will continue.

I think the only people who may be swayed by flashy E3 presentations will be the minority, not the majority.

I see this escalated to rabid fanboi levels as per usual. I think buying one over the other (solely) based on an 80 quid price difference is mental. That's 2 games, or knowing Sony, the cost of an extra controller :p

Both will have awesome graphics. Both will have exclusives. Most of my friends currently own 360's and will be getting One's, so it's an easy decision. Though once they decide to release Forza on the PC, I'll probably ditch the consoles as a gaming machine. Power PC ftw.

Bring on the launch day bundles \o/

They were terrible, though?

This is true.

Although I've been saying all along that Sony will be on top this time round, no handicapping themselves with the hardware in the PS3. I'll still be getting both, it's just nice always being right.

lol just kiddin.

Still only watched half hour of MS's presentation. Which is funny because I couldn't get asleep till 4 anyway. f**king need to take a day off for it, that and Last of Us lol.

Based on what? Price?
That's on the list, but to be honest at the moment I think I'd buy the PS4 if it were double the price of the Xbone.

No DRM, so you can lend, sell, give away your games whenever you like to whomever you like. This shouldn't be a feature, but Microsoft have made it one.

No internet connection required at all, so you can take your console offline and play it whenever and wherever you like. Again, this shouldn't be a feature, but somehow is.

Price. Nearly £100 cheaper.

Indie developers can self-publish, so no jumping through the ridiculous hoops of XBLA certification and having the bizarre situation of having to pay to patch a game (see Fez for example).

Gaikei cloud service to stream older PS2/3 titles (also with Vita)

...

I loved the Xbox 360 - it was probably the best console I've ever owned. However the last two years of owning one has been a massive chore. The ad-ridden mess of a dashboard is terrible to navigate and the XBLA releases have been pretty poor to cite two examples. Nothing that Microsoft have said about their new console has filled me with confidence - it is an anti-consumerist, pro-publisher DVR box that can also play games. Their whole 'Xbox One Input One' slogan sums it up - they want to take over your living room and be one device for all things. I don't want that - I want a great games console. Sony seem to have taken all the criticism of the PS3 launch on board and I'd say now it's an excellent system. Everything they've said about the machine has been game- and gamer-focused. Yes, it can play Blu-rays too, but those are secondary functions. Microsoft have forgotten about this.

It's amazing how much good will they built up with the 360 and Windows 7 - remember how dreadful their products were before that? They're just reverting to type.

Most of my friends owned a PS2 before the 360, not an original Xbox, and jumped ship because the 360 was so much better than the PS3 initially. I think people will gravitate towards whatever their friends will buy. It's all down to the early adopters. Who are mainly people who watch E3 presentations...

Any decent pics of the PS4? I'll buy the Xbox anyway as it'll be a far superior gaming console imo.

The price is a tad steep but getting rid of the 360 goes someway to leveling things out for me. I'm guessing backwards compatibility was announced? Not that it matters.

This one is a bit of a non starter for me. It's rare I trade my 360 games in, and I'd say 90% of my gaming nowadays is on a PC filled with digital downloads that I can't trade in/sell. I don't blame MS for implementing it, it's what the publishers want. GAME and their ilk have gotten away with selling nearly new preowned games at 5 quid under RRP for too long.

Yes, in that there is none.

I don't either personally, but I believe consumers should have as much choice as possible. I just don't agree with it in principle.

The comparison of PC gaming is a bit disingenuous though - you make a trade-off of not being able to resell it by the fact it's so cheap to start with (especially in the Steam sales). A lot of people buy £40 disc-based games on the premise they can trade them back in again for £25 and buy another £40 game for £15. I think this is bad for gaming in general, and bad for gamers. At least now Sony have ruled it out, those who aren't happy with this practice can vote with their wallets.

I do agree that retailers take the piss selling preowned games for £35, but this is using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Also, superb trolling here, although it's verging on the unprofessional.

Comparing apples and oranges though. If you compare the cost of CoD on both the PC and the console, there's little price difference (CoD Black Ops 2 is still 40 quid on Steam, and it's rare the sale knocks more than a tenner off the price).

Why is it superior though? On paper and in actual fact it's inferior in every way mate. The only thing to keep people there is if Live is still substantially better and more populated than PSN still. Which could change over the course of next year, and if it has a much better exclusive line up.

It's difficult justifying the price as well knowing that the PS4 gets you more hardware. You're paying an extra £80 for less of a machine. I know it's not as clear cut as this, but it's still food for thought. I think they've genuinely priced it too high considering.

One word...

Forza.

Anyone wanting a PS4 must have banged their head especially those that enjoy playing racing games.
