300 miles to half a tank. So far so good.

Job list is pretty long:
Front Spray
Wheel refurb
4x Michelins
New speakers
Leather treatment
New 'deco' decals for the front
New centre caps
New side repeaters
New lower grill
Maybe new headlights.....

Did you get it cheap?
I don't know now. I knew about the paint. The seller said the wheels were fine, which they are, they just aren't prefect. The other little bits are just me being picky.

It needs £1500 spending on it. Then it should be worth probs £2000 more than I paid for it. So no great money to be made, weirdly though and this is a total surprise, I love the thing already. Its a genuinely good drive and nice place to be. Part of me wants to make it near mint and then keep it.

You know what? This will decimate all, after, you put about fifteen grand in it or more. If we have to, overnight parts from Germany.

To make any money on a car is a result, let's be honest!

They clearly have a following for a reason, with the miles and roads you drive on you'll be forever fighting keeping it tip top surely. Plus you'll soon get bored anyway.

Are all the d3's biturbo? I really fancied one when I bought the Slowda, but wasn't sure on diesel and couldn't find an estate.

Pre 2010 they are a 320 motor with a 330d turbo and intercooler with 198bhp. After 2010 they have the 123d engine with 211bhp. The Bi turbo's are more desirable and command around a £3k premium.

LOL!!!

Another corner shop car! How does brimful of Asha sound on the stereo?
New Deco's were either Gold or Silver. This obv's can't have silver.....

This is going to be epic when I'm done......

Front Alpina Letter = Gold
Front Deco = Gold
Side Deco = Gold
Rear Badging = Silver Chrome

Thank f**k it didn't have gold rears. I can't wait to make this a curry house jew bus.

Make it all gold. Needs a decorative tissue box on the parcel shelf and I've probably got a spare gold skullcap you can have. Best of both worlds.

I came in here to say this is a very rare car for me because it's a diesel and I like it.

Now I just want to see the gold.

Alpina just sent me its spec list when it was new. It turns out it was spec'd with GOLD deco striping. GOLD. Christ.

I wanted to put it back to how it came from the factory. Gold is a bit of a push.

Jesus. That would have the Gulzar Seal of Approval all over it.

Love the stickers. Just not when the colour scheme originates from 1982.

In fact, why stop at the sides of the car? You too could think about colour-matching rear bumper skirts... :poo:

Damn it. Keep looking at that one from Millennium heroes now!

The original E46 ones were just the 320d with a remap. My cousin always joked that they copied him with the d3 thing as he badged his original 2004 330d "d3" for the Gumball3000 for the few years he did it. That thing was a monster for the time.

Always liked the Alpina bits though, at least there's a bit of class compared to the AC Shitzer parts catalogue.
