early oil change -182

  Ford Fiesta

both me and my mate got oil and filter changes at 6K, using our own oil, elf 5w40 so cheaper than letting dealer use their oil.

I think it did make a difference and gets rid of all the crap that may be there from running in.

it felt better/smoother and mine stopped using oil after the first change as it was already a few bars down at 6k.

how early are you talking? Id change at 6k if its a new car... prob wouldnt bother doing it any earlier.

Ive ordered my Elf 5w/40 oil from Debra this morning. Going to change at 3000 miles or just a little bit over ;)

Got mine done at 1,600M with the proper ELF stuff, gonna wait till about 10K now before the next.

might as well wait for the 12K then surely? i usually half the service interval, so on my dynamique i used to get it done at 9K, now on 182 every 6K.

For a first oil change Id do it at 1000/1500miles...............but then again my car is nearly 4years old and its just had the oil changed after only 1700miles since its last change..............I change it every 6months whatever the mileage is.................with a maximum of 5k then change.

Ive had a quote from Walker Renault to change my oil (me supplying the oil) and oil filter - £53.

Hmmm now youve got me wondering whether I should change mine at 6k - its on 4.7 at the moment..I know this has been asked a million times before, but how much is the oil for a 182? The stuff Renault use.

You guys crack me up. Changing your oil after a few months to look after the engine life of your cars yet very few of you keep them more than a couple of years.

I suppose I am guilty too. I could stick to the service intervals, would only need it done once before trading it in at 3 years. But I shall probably get mine done at 1 year/9k and then again at 2 years.

No  Ive seen another Racing Blue with stripes in Stourbridge a few weeks back, might be that one.

I thought I was the only one in the area!?!?!?

  V6 255, 172's, JCW,

Just changed mine at 5.5k... Just before the Brands track day.. didnt want to be hammering it with the thought of any sh*te in the engine. Made sure the engine was nice and warm first and left it to drain for about an hr.. Certainly seems to run smoother now!
