Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
On my MK2 PH2 i see mine goes from the battery terminal to the body just behind the headlamp.

Will need to remove bumper and headlamp to get to this properly.

Ive noticed mine has rusted slightly, so while its all off im going to clean it up and earth it properly again :D

  CB600FS
^As above. Red means positive, I'd clean up your old one, with a wire brush/file or get a genuine one from Renault or Halfords for a cheap one.

You can usually clean them up though

  Mondeo TDCI 130
Also the terminals are different szes, so positive wont fit negative! ones fatter than the other!

  R35 GTR
To all the knobs who go " oh dear red earth" who gives a fook!

Thanks for the useful comments from the rest though. Didnt know the terminals were different size.

headlights will pull 8A air con 15A radio 3A Ignition 20A? so it starts to add up

earth cable is in no way expensive, or even an earth strap would do the trick, at the end of the day as long as it works thats all that matters ;)
