ECU swap

Can I simply swap a superchipped ECU with a standart one? One of my friend is selling his RS, same year same MK as mine, Can I simply swap his ECU with mine? Will there be some other issues about immobilizer or etc.?

Another question where can I get a Group N ECU?

all most month ago i swap group n ecu to my 172 ph2. ~700km driven. idle is still ~1300rpm. ecu is still in "learning-mode"? can i do something or just wait.

ok will pm you, by the way mine is mk1, year 2000. Is there a way to buy the map only? Can I remap my ECU by using the reprog option in Clip Software and giving your file as an input? I am in Turkey at the moment, that is my only concern? How different is your in-house remap and Group N ECU?

hmm maybe i swap the original ecu back. if idle is ok then the new racebox is faulty or something. my luck, but i like warranty

if youve paired it to your car it will need unlocking before using it.

I have a gpn for sale for the newer units if your after one (not wanting to junp on pmurray's toes of course )

er gpn does have idle @ 1300 iirc.
If you have connected a virgin ecu to your car and started it, it is paired and will require unlocking to connect to another vehicle due to the immo data.
re 'learning mode' all this is is the abilty for this ecu to adjust fuelling etc to light mods done on the car. its not as tho it stops learning after so many miles or hours
