Eibach sportline

Car  Ph1 172
Hi all, i was wondering wether the Eibach Sportline springs give a good ride ie are they bouncy?

reason i ask is i've used lowering springs in the past on other cars and were on the bouncy side of things which did my head in.

Cheers guys.

I've had sportlines, prolines, apex. Apex are awful. Sportlines give a firmer ride than standard, but not terrible. Prolines are fantastic, but don't lower a 172/182 by much.

Yeah i want to keep away from Apex by doing a little research on here nobody favor's them from what i see. How much would you say the Sportlines lower the 172? ive got a Ph1 172 if that makes any differance?

20-30mm-ish. They are good. How many miles have you covered on the original dampers?

20-30 mm is about right.

Will level the car out more than anything, so the front doesnt sit so much higher than the rear.

Much better than the standard springs, Drastically reduced bodyroll on my 182 its a bit of a firmer ride but is nothing uncomfortable and the car is more predictable while cornering,

Ive found since i changed over from standard i can take corners at quicker speeds than i used to be able to. Money well spent IMO I try avoid as many potholes and avoid roads i know to be rough for fear of popping a shock now though.

they are good i found them everso slightly crashy tho', but handling is miles better

Hi there, I am thinking of getting a set of sportline, but unsure weather to get sport or pro? do you have sportlines? if so what are they like on day to day use? and how low do they drop your car? do you have any trouble with speed bumps? any advice would be brill, many thanks Andrew

Andrew how's it goin?

The sportlines are fantastic - no loss of comfort at all (maybe even better than OE)

Mine are still settling in but so far it's lowerd 20-25mm all round. Figures say they drop 25-30mm on the RS Clio's

As for speedbumps, no problems at all but I go easy on them anyway - CF splitter love!

Get them fitted mate - I love mine :approve:

What I told him ^

From what I heard they are better for handling & comfort, just won't lower the Cup as much as the 172s

Nice, will have a search for some pics. Mine looks funny cause the front sits a bit higher than the back so want to see if Sportlines will sort this out.

Horses for courses mate. I'm very happy with mine :)

bit firm and crashes over bumps etc, but not tooo bad

BANG!!! every time i go over a big pot hole, low pros dont help tho. But handles much much better would recommend!
P.s. Dont buy from Ktec you can get them cheaper else where! :)

search for alans old 182. looked superb on the sportlines. im getting some for mine

I put them on my 1.2 16v found it alot better than standard i was very impressed as i was expecting a sh*t ride quality but it came out alot better than standard and handled alot nicer. If your not happy with how the clio sits take the rubber doughnuts out of the tops at the rear the springs are big anough to sit straight and sits flater. if you got a 1.2 you can take them out both from the top and bottom and i think mines at around 40mm drop now.

Looks spot on there mate

Sportlines def on the cards after I sort out the exhaust, been looking at a Milltek. Just need to save the g's, so much for leaving it standard lol

I have fitted sportlines with cup dampeners. Very happy with the improvements, much flatter on the track, far less body roll and subtle drop . Needed camber bolts and two wheel alignments to get it set up right.
