Elf Excellium, available from AKS Yeovil!

  Clio 197

Hi All,

Im not sure if everyone is aware, but I managed to buy a top-up from AKS in Yeovil - a renault dealer.

It was the 5w40 Elf Excellium fully synthetic stuff, which cost about £6.50 for £1 litre (which is very good considering Halfords own stuff is about £9.

This is very refreshing, as my first 182 was serviced and topped up using 10w40 magnatec, by Kings of Taunton (who didnt have the Elf Excellium, or any 5w40 in stock).

What are your experiences with buying Top-Up oil from dealerships, or anywhere for that matter?

Yes, Debras oil is deffo value for money... Ill be getting some for my first oil n filter change.:D

All I wanted was a one off top-up bottle, which was a b*gger to find anywhere else (and I tried everywhere!)

I have managed to buy top ups quite easily from Renault Dealers, they even give you a free zip up case to keep it in, at the moment. If they have not got it they can also order it for you as well.

Dont think renault dealers stock the exhellium.

I bought 5 litres from Renault Stockport back in July. Then at the end of January I bought 5 litres again (they only had 3 in stock but they ordered the rest in) Since then I bought an additional 1 litre top up (with free case) This was all 5W 40 stuff from Renault Manchester.

I think Dealers tend to stock whatever they can get cheapest at the time (thats what one of the parts guy and then servicing people told me at Reading, they only had Mobil 1 which isnt available in 5w40)

i wouldnt put mobil 1 in, as i think that made my rocker cover leak when they put it in my 182 (£800 bill)
