Engine changing

Does anyone know how hard it would be to put a 1.4 16v into a 2002 1.2 8v shell? and would i need a new gear box and shafts?

you would need the engine shafts gearbox ecu uch the key from the 1.4 , hubs disks and calipers the engine loom . is your 1.2 8v a new shape?

you could swap everything over if you really wanted to selling the red one.... its your mechanics aint it matt? too fast for his wife

Yup its a new shape. the reason im asking is im gettin banned so while im off the road im oing to change the engine and get it painted. but that is all i need?

does your car have electric power steering and ABS?

it has abs and it has power steering really dont know if its electric though

who is gonna do the work for you and where you getting the engine from?
The 1.4 engine must have electric power steering for yours to work without any wiring mods or do without power steering.

well im a first year apprentice at a renault garage and a couple of the guys are up for doing the work but they havent actually done a clio engine upgrade before so i needed some advice on what kind of a job it is. there is a website sourcing and engine for me just now its http://www.findapart.co.ukwww.findapart.co.uk so i will see what they come up with

findapart are crap better off giving matt a ring 01254386661 get you all the stuff you need he will talk you into a 2 litre conversion though!

em a think a 2 litre will be a bit much to insure. sounds like a pants excuse i know lol. well i should be off the road in about a month so i will give him a ring then. take it i would have to pick up the parts? where is he based?
