Engine coming out....

What other jobs should i get done while it's out for a rebuild?:dapprove:

I'm thinking clutch, aux belt, cam belt water pump.

Extras if I have enough cash could be lightened flywheel, conrods.

what about boring out to 2.2 litres?

No point boring out if you've turbo for the money realy.

Ported head and cams if you havn't got them i think you do though.

I'd look at using a different bottem end anaywa though for a better clutch/gearbox.

IIRC boring out the 172/182 engine will only serve to lower the revs at which you reach peak hp

low compression and high compression, plus a cylinder with lots of oil in, i think that's what's up with it.

Dont know what is broken for sure yet.

My rings have gone on number 3 mucho oil in the chamber! Doing stuff to the bottom end is really going to hurt your pocket, usually places that do lightening and balancing will charge one price for rods crank and fly wheel so you may as well get them all done.

Who's setup is it I thought you had a ktec car and they did cams and head work?

Bottom end isn't cheap depend how far you go and how much you DIY. Stronger rods arn't to bad.

Forged Rods
Low Comp Pistons
Steel Crank

Dont put woosner (sp) pistons or rods in or you will be re-biulding again soon LOL

i looked into a stroker kit but it seemed pointless

All i know is it has woosner pistons.....done by bbpt not ktec.

good news it's running, but has problems with the map.

Couple more weeks at the most i think.
