engine conversion help!???!

  1.4 RT
im planning on getting an engine conversion done to the clio in the summer, either a GT turbo engine or a valver one.
The problem im thinkin is, when ive had it done, would the car need to be re-registered under the new engine for e.g from 1.4 rt to 1.8 16v etc.????
therefore insurance hitting planes its that high!!
and what would happen when the car needed mot'ing and servicing???
what im tryin to say is, is there anyway of doing this on the sly?hehe
cheers:]

Of course there's a way of doing it on the sly. Don't tell the insirance. But if you crash then you better get the KY out...

  1.4 RT
but.....wouldnt for e.g a valver kick out more emissions than a 1.4 therefore failing the mot, and not been able to tax it then??n when coming to sell t and it says 1.4 on the registration docs and under the bonnet a luvly valver lump?

For servicing errr well you don't pay a garage to do it if you can do a engine swop you know how to service a car.

For MOT so long as the DVLA are correctly informed they do a check based on the engine fittedfor emmsions rules that all.

Fill in your V5 with the engine engine details and thats all.

You can do it on the sly stupid, illegal and idiotic to do but hey its your life. MOT don't check engine type just emmisiosn so so long as there low enough your fine.

Nope with a proper cat any car should be able to pass emmisions.

Well when you come to see you'd have to sort that out but what can you expect to do?
