how hard is it to pull the engine out of a 182?anything i should be aware of before i do it?

lol turned out the aircon was empty anyway nothing come out.does the engine and gearbox have to come out as one or can i take the engine out without the gear box?

Do it either way, Generally you need to get it on quite an angle to remove engines with boxs attatched

i assume you just pull the drive shafts out at the begining so there out the way?

yes, take the shafts out first. Be extra careful to pull the short shaft out as straight as possible, it's easy to knock the bearings on the end of the shaft off and if the needles fall into the gearbox you're screwed
