I charge £75 for a timing check and adjust.

A few things can show it, usually tell tale is tippex marks. But I had one in on Tuesday, that was down in the low 30mpg, pulled ok.

I'd reset it, on the journey to collect him, it was up at around 38mpg and pulled like a train afterwards.

To be honest. The previous owner said he changed it. And my mpg is s**t and car feels a lot slower than my brothers 182

Mate I have such bad luck. Had a Scooby engine catch fire. There goes my no claims. 2 clio 1.8 16v cambelt snap. And a focus tddi with a ruined dmf and clutch. Only car I had that not let me down is Astra 2.2sri

Street itself is pretty poor, but bristol is less than an hour away, same for bath. I dont Drink, so cant really comment on it lol

Tbh, the best option, is get to me for 11am, I'll run you and the missus into clarks village, she can go shopping for a few hours and I'll have the car done and dusted in less time than her shopping

you no people that hhave gone there. they quoted 475 for belts. then extra 100 odd to fix rocker oil leak.

all i need now is a top engine mount i think. is it ment to be in 2 parts or 1.?

And brake pads but there easy il do that myself

Personally no, but I've had a few cars in from customers who have had belts done by him at the last interval and the work has always been spot on. top engine mount is 1 piece.

Alright need a new mount then, that explains the knocking. no dephaser. mine sounds ok, and im skint. im gna end up having a divorse cause of this car lol

I would get the dephaser done as they start to go around that mileage and the last thing you want is to spend £475 for the dephaser to go a few months later, as you need will need the belts changing again to fix it!

Ok cool, what happens when a dephaser goes ? does it wreck the engine or just sound s**t ?

Sounds like a diesel. plus you have to do the belt again.
