Engine light on post re-cat??

  E36 M3. 182
Hi guys, I had a decat on my 182, and predictably had an engine light on the dash. The car ran fine and gave decent MPG, so I assumed that the decat was causing the light. I recently got a cat and a cat-back system fitted, and the light went out for the first drive or two. Then, when I got back in the car, the light came back on. The car still drives fine, so has the ECU stored the fault and flagged it back up?? Is it possible to get hold of a code reader to wipe the fault codes off?? Any advice would be great, cheers.

does it flash or stay lit? i had a solid EML light and had to replace my post CAT lamda it it sorted it. if it stored the fault, would it have gone away for a while?

It stays lit. It went off for a a bit during the first drive after putting the cat back in, but came back on after. Car seems to be lacking a bit of go aswell..

Ive never de-cat'd mine so im sure what happens when it gets the cat back on. is it a bran new cat fitted? may be worth getting it on a diag machine - you might find its something totaly different to the exhaust
