The cars been running fine so i decided to fit my 172 alloys and give the arches a clean. after pressure washing the arches and wheels when starting the car the engine management light came on and stayed on. the car still seems to be running fine so im not sure.

is it just a matter or crap electrics and water getting into the sensor?

ive left the car in the garage with the battery unplugged hoping it will dry out.

fingers crossed :)

Its not the engine management light. Is the engine emmisions warning light, probably a lambda as said in the other thread if its working ok, should get it checked out though if it doesnt go away.

Mine came on last week, called out the RAC, the guy hooked it up to his laptop & it told him it was the oxygen sensor. (I had been driving in deep snow the day before). He went under the car, told me he'd disconnected it, cleaned it & re-connected it. It's been fine until it came on again today but it's not affecting the performance at all. Think I'm gonna have to have it sorted though.

Its also the industry standard management warning light, renault just like to add a few in that only they're computers can read. So they call it the toxic fume warning light because they've got the others to indicate other problems.

But it does logs faults other than the lambda sensors.

hmm i think it could be a lamba sensor as it seems to be over fueling as im getting below 15 mpg and when i parked it in the garage for literally 20 seconds the whole garage stunk of petrol.

???
