Engine Misfire

I've got a 03 Clio 172. The engine has started to misfire and accelerating is now very rough. AA reckoned it's the ignition coil, oxygen sensors, spark plugs, or worse case one of the cylinders. I've taken it back to the garage who believe it's the coil pack and the spark plugs which they'll change.

Is there anything else the fault could stem from?

I have just had the same problem. 1 Spark plug was knackered but there is still a missfire. How much is a new coil pack from a garage usually?

Coil packs are about £40.?

is it not just the individual coil's? If you let the car idle and pull out the injector leads If it starts to misfire even more its not that coil, repeat the process until when you take 1 out there is no change. Then replace the offending coil. Think i may have misread the post tho

i had that problem changed the spark plugs and it sorted the problem out

Check the coil pack sounds like its gone.

Nope, coil pack on the 172/182 not invidivual coils.

ive got the exact same pron i change my coil pack and still got it and i got engine management light on dont waste the money on the coil pack

in my case it was plug leads.

injector may not be firing at correct time or one of the cylinders may be low on compression.

i had it put on the clip showed missfire on cylinder 1 tryed everything else so gonna wacka new injector on it

I have had the same prob on my 02 172, changed the coil pack, new NGK plugs and magnacor leads, and i still have the prob. However when i changed the coil pack the problem was sorted..........for all of about 4 hours and then it was back. the car is going in on friday at a specialist so will let u guys know.

not sure if the 1.2 coil packs are the same, but i saw some in the for sale section earlier for cheap money, worth a try.

interesting this, i have a very small miss on mine, had it for quite a while and its not that evident, what you reckon?
