Engine Mount problem ?

  clio 172
Under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear i can hear which i think is possibly the exhaust knocking on the subframe.

If driven normally it doesnt happen so im thinking its excess movement.

Would i be best buying a KTEC uprated engine mount ? I which one would it be most likely the upper one ?

ive got the dogbone bushes here, they didnt look to bad when remove from the car

Fred ive noticed a dent on the bottom of my manifold.. ive never had any knocks or bangs and it a pretty big dent :S Is this commonly caused by the engine mounts or is it possible the previous owner and the pikey workshop that done the cambelt dropped the engine onto the subframe?

Sorry about the thread hijack

ive fitted the dogbone bushes and move the engine mount abit more towards the front and seems to have more or less cured it. engine mount was in the fully back position so i dont know if the previous owner had had allok as i bought the car with the knocking on the exhaust

powerflex dogbone and standard upper mounts - all you need

iv read you mention this a lot however it seems a bit of a strange statement given how often the standard mounts seem to go?

i mean i have read of people having mounts go after 3yrs so surely there a weak point?
