Usualy you cna tell the car can when driven hard knock it self out of gear the gearstock moved loads thats usualy the best sign for the dogbone going which is the most common due to the mounts desing.
The other usualy break so you know about them.

its just when I accelerate hard then change gear it feels like the engine is going to jump out! there is a nock when I change gear quickly. doesn't do it all the time. Oh yeah having a little cup on these roads is fantastic! no mine isn't the 1 parked in hawkshead seen 1 going around though. Where you from?

Sounds like the dogbone mount is worn personally I'd get another repalcment Renault one only 15 minutes to chnage it very easy job. When you do it you'll see if the mount needs ajusting to stop if itshitting the subframe.
You can chnage to the ktec one but its harder and wilst stops the engine moving about it does wear the other mounts quicker.

most of the time when I accelerate hard there is a sound where the exhaust is touching the subframe and it vibrates through the steering wheel. had a look the other day and there is a very small gap where the cat bolts to the manifold and it look like thats where its touching under power!
A new mount will help reduce movment then.
However when you fit the new dogbone mount you'll see that thew bar it attches to can be adjsued by loosening the bolting moving it as far is it can and retigthen the bolting this well help hold the engine further away from the subframe.

mine is in need of new mounts .. when pulling off in first gear and doing about 5 mph i get a nocking/clicking noise. Also, put it in second and floor it when doing 10-20 mph i get the same clicking nock. Look under neath the car because my engine was forcing the exhaust back and off the mounts sending vibration throught the whole car.

My mate who I bought the car off said that renault re-called the clio beacuse the bracket which bolts the cat to the manifold was touching the subframe when you accelarate hard, He said they grided a coulple of mm off the bottom of the backet - I'll try and get a photo put up (hard to explian!) my mate said it stopped banging, but then he put a sports cat on it and its starting againg and now i've got the car. He told me it won't do any damage its just annoying!! which is true
