engine mounts

has anyone had solid top mounts fitted and do they make a big difference to the car.cheers

I had them fitted for a while, I removed them as they were too harsh for road use and I am a big girl. (had to get that in before anyone else did). They made a small difference in that I seemed to get more feedback from the road and steering, I didnt feel any improvements in the handling.

i have them, yes. they are very good imo. i wouldn't choose to go back to standard mounts.

The uprated engine and gearbox mounts are one of the best mods I've done. They make car more solid, throttle response feels sharper, steering and handling feels tighter also.

I would agree with this, would also add poly dogbone mounts also makes a difference. You will have to put up with a shuddery car on idle. But once moving feels the same.

the shuderryness off the dogbone goes after a few hundred miles. mine are no different now.

i like mine (Vibratechnics/KTEC and polydogbone) and think they're a good idea if you give the car a hard time, have worn mounts and/or particularly don't like the std mounts (some people do, apparently!)

not on mine. not complaining tho. the difference they have made is worth the vibrations and rattles imo.

i agree 100%. onlydownside is vibrations/rattles at low revs. i can live with that tho.
