Engine number

My insurance rang me up today asking me for the new 'engine number' on the new engine ive just put in the car.

Where can i find this number ?

iirc it's on the front of the block somewhere near the oil filter.

you'll have to remove the fuel rail guard, and this will give better access.

I think it will start with a C too.
