Engine Power Loss In My Valver

  clio 2litre/gt 5 turbo
Hey peeps my valver seems to have lost loadsa power, i cudnt say if its the clutch or not but the clutch pedal does feel softer and a very high bite point, sometimes its very quick and sometimes its so f**king unresponsive its duin my head in any ideas? oh and would a full exhaust system induction kit and decat affect oil pressure in the engine? please help me

I've had all of those mods on my valver but didn't make much if any difference to oil pressure.

If you're having problems with oil pressure i'd get that checked out. I filled my valver up with way too much oil and it lost all its power, felt like a 1.2 going uphill.

Perhaps you might have a lack of oil?

I'd get it looked at in case it's anything serious.

i never have problems selecting gears no, as with the oil level i chaeck it every other day i always keep it on maximum, just spoke to my mate sparkie he sead change the oil and filter as the oils probly had its life

1) check the fuel filter - they get clogged up with loads of crap that can really hinder power - i changed mine and its really eeasy.

2) You induction kit will be sucking in hot air from the engine - as such, when the engine is cold, it will feel quick but 40% of the time, the engine will feel very laboured - mine did this - closed induction kit sorted it.

3) Change the oil filter - not so easy as its on the front of the block but could help.

4) Bare in mind that you COULD be overfilling will oil - if you keep it at max constantly, it could be a missreading,

Is your radiator fan working? is the engine over heating?

If you are getting oil pressure checked, i suggest you get the fuel pressure checked too

im not loosing any coolent so it aint my head gasket,im changing my oil and filter 2mora didnt think bout the fuel filter, do you think it could be slowed down by the clutch possibly going its never been changed?

clutch will have no affect on a cars pace unless its slipping and you would know about that, 20mph in 5th doing 7 krpm, then bang then pulling this out, lol those were the days

could be a million reasons why the cars performace comes and goes.

fuel supply is a good startign point, chances are the fuel filters original, so get it changed like the man said.
