Engine rattle

car has just started rattleing at first i thought it might of been the eingine cover but i took that off and its still there :S

it sounds like its comming from down near the drivers side liight? there isnt much room to have a look really, anyone has same problem? or know what this could be?

Check the fuel rail guard is tight. Its in the belt are so could be the water pump, alternator or PAS pump but all of those are unlikely....

Is it more of a ticking? as it could be the carbon canaster solenoid

ive checked the fuel rail 1 bolt was loose but that didnt stop it,

and nope its def a rattle will have a look in the morning when the car is cold!

just had a friend look at it and he thinks its the alternator bearing has gone? as when you put lights aircon etc on the noise goes :S but when you turn them off it starts again,

this a paint to sort out?

new alternator?

new alternator, any burning smells? i was going to say dephaser at first, it may be the alternator seizing and the belt flapping about

no burning smells its only started 2 days ago,

only had the car since saturday :dapprove:

Could it not be the compressor unit of the aircon if it goes when you put the aircon on??

Its a rattle alternator arent all that bad

Alternator is around 200 brand new from renault, found that out when i snapped he cable off the alternator last week an the car wouldn start, bumped it and sealed the b*tch back on runs fine now. But a rattle or a heafty price ....... rattle can last abit longer

ive found a second had 1 for quite cheap, these a pain to swap over?
