Engine swap between a 1.5dci and a 1.9 dti

  Renault Clio 1.5 DCI mk2
as stated above, is it posibile to do an engine swap ?

i have a 1.5 dci 82 bhp.

Is the 1.9 larger than the 1.5, and if so, will it fit ?

You also have to change the ecu, transmision and what else?

thank you...

Get a nice cup of tea and a paper and maybe a slice of toast ( perhaps with some jam on it ) - buy yourself an autotrader and get yourself a faster car. Dont waste your time as the 1.9 Dti is s**t slow - the 1.5 is actually quicker and more tuneable.

The dti is chippable to 130hp or so maybe 150 if you push things with custom remap intercooler etc but its not huge. A better idea is a 1.9 dci or 2.2 dci engine as they have more power as standard (150hp stock on the 2.2 chippable to 180 safly).
The 1.9 dti does fit easily as it was fitted to the earier Mk 2 phase 1 cars and the mounts are the same.
The best idea i can think is to drop the 1.9 dci or 2.2 in (1.9 is possibly the better idea in 140hp spec) then make a custom loom and run it off the normal ecu so there less problems then remap the standard ecu.
