Engine swap question.. New to Old.

This is purely a thought at this point in time, but it crossed my mind while reading some threads.

The standard 1.2 (older stlye) clio can have the 182 lump dumped in it and all the necessities, and from what i read a 182 can fit a 197 engine but without the gear box (I think) fitting.

Does that mean the 197 lump would fit in a 1.2 without the gearbox also?

And now my question:

If so, I am assuming the new clio 1.2 with the turbo (100bhp i think? Dynamique) is a smaller engine than the 197.
Would the new clio 1.2 turbo lump fit into an older style 1.2 with all parts necessary?

Crossed my mind as i don't really fancy a 1*2, too much power for my liking. :)

You would have a hard time getting to to fit if you want to transplant do a 1*2 engine easy to do and been done a good few times !!

You could fit one to it but i think youll need alot of work done to the engine as in uprating parts so in the end alot of money again just for a 1.2

I know where you's are coming from, thanks for the tips!

Had a look about and was actually looking at the new clio Dynamique S 138 maybe for a new car in two years or so. :)
