A few questions about swapping engines insurance/DVLA wise;
Getting my engine conversion done in March from 1.4 to 2litre, so i have researched a couple of things.
Will insurance company only charge more if the capacity increases? Depends On The insurer, but in most cases they will charge you more if you change the engine for a more powerful one in my experience.
How will the insurance group actually be altered - will it take the group of the car the engine came from or is it worked out another way? not totally sure but i know it works out slightly more to insure a valver engined RT than a valver, but costs less to insure a willy engined RT than a Willy.
What does the DVLA actually need to know? Engine number or something? all you need to do is alter the v5 and send it back to them, i think you might have to give them an engineers report who carried out the work.
Is there anyone else i need to tell and what do i need to give? Insurers and DVLA, thats it
Thanks in advance!
