Engine tappet noise

When accelerating at any speed hard or steady there is always a tappet noise like older fords used to get. None of my other clios made this noise but they had only done mid 70k and this one has 107, could this be just engine wear? The car drives fine and pulls well so I'm not too concerned apart from the other cars didn't do it.

Mines had the noise for years, only at idle though and when its cooking hot, drive it till it goes bang then slap another engine in it...

Stick your head near the passenger front wing when the engines running. Hear a ticking noise? It's the carbon canister. This is possibly what your hearing.
