As title does it really need the padding that's attached to it?

mine was covered in sh#te and started to drag on the floor so i ripped mine out and its not made any difference to mine

Same here it was covered in oil from oil change's throughout it's life so took it off got rid of the padding jet washed it & it's come up mint Then popped it back on

No mate take it off just soaks up any sh*t or if you have any leaks you wont know about em as the spnonge will soak them up.

i just ripped the padding out coz it was sh@gged
