Engine whine when moving between idle and 2000ish revs

My car has developed a whining sound that happens when travelling at low speeds in the rev range between idle to approx 2000.

It happens permanently and not a one off.

The engines do that in the 1*2. I don't know if it is the same for the twingo engine but it likely is. Someone in the know will let you know soon. How noticeable is it?

Sorry it's a twingo rs, and apart from sounding like a tractor on idle which is normal, the engine and gearbox have been perfect with no noises. Seems quite central the sound in the engine bay.

Renault replaced the waterpump, cambelt, aux etc last year

When was the aux belt last changed?

so it's been fine for 7 or so months (work was done under warranty for faulty waterpump)

I honestly do not know if these are ePAS or Hydraulic. I suspect a PAS issue though if it's hydraulic

Twingo rs is electric power steering. Oh it had a new steering rack as well at the tail end of last year.
