When i bumped my old valver @ <5mph it crumpled the front in. Would not like to think how it would have stood any faster...

Dust, the more a car deforms the better, so long as it doesnt deform into the occupants. As for race cars having no ABS. This is true, but everyone in a race car is a) going the same way. b) at least fairly competant at driving and c) surrounded by a roll cage should the brown stuff hit the spinny thing!

just so you can compare to an older car, this is was happened to my mates 205 after it left the road and went down a ditch rolling over several times.

The only reason he survived is that a roll cage was fitted but you can see the back of the car not protected is like tin foil.
