Evo mag - July03 - V6 wins group test

Impressive win for the V6 over some much more pricey kit -

Group test of:

Standard V6 Mk2, TVRT350C, Mitzy Evo VIII FQ, Vauxhall VX220 Turbo. Cheapest was the Clio at 27k - most expensive was the TVR at £41,985.

"If you havent realised already, these are all truly great cars. Picking a winner is near impossible, but when we get round to finally adding up scores, its the Clio thats made the biggest impression on our collective respect and affections. Given the quality of the opposition - including what we reckon is the best TVR ever made - its a sensational result."

"Three of these cars have very specific characters. The TVR is hardcore and horny, the VX arguably the best handling roadster on the planet and the EVO a devistatingly effective way of getting from A to B. In the end its about more than sheer ability. Take desirability, looks, charisma and cost into account and the Clio finds its edge. It delivers enjoyment on every level, including a temporal one where you have to learn how to get the best from it over time".

"You could have a very grown-up relationship with the ClioV6. It feels as special and as charismatic as any car we can think of under £40k. The Clio has come good, and how".

Yeah it was a good read, EVO are loyal to the Clios. It looked especially good against the kit car that is the TVR thingy.

yeah, but the TVR was a lot more money! I think the VX is good value for money (speed wise), although it looks hideous.
