Exchange Gurus..........

We have 2 exchange servers one in our Dundee office, one in the Glasgow office.

Is there any way to make the Glasgow users look at the Glasgow exchange server for their Global address list?

The Glasgow users seem to be looking at the Dundee server for the GAL and its slowing everything down.

Any pointers would be great!

Think the GAL comes from AD rather than from the exchange server. Is there an AD server in both Glasgow and Dundee?

Might be getting mixed up though LOL beena while since I have done AD/Exchange stuff!

If you are using AD I think you want to look into setting up AD sites to group your netoworked computers and resourses e.g. exchange servers.

I thought GAL came from the Exchange store that the user's mailbox is on?

As far as I know the GAL is producede by an LDAP query and all the address info is held in AD.

That'll be the one, I've got notes on the brain at the moment.

This means he'd need to have a secondary DC in Glasgow yes?

Although in saying this it might be the case that a copy of the GAL is stored on the exchange server itself and the LDAP query just updates this when there is a change! Can't remember of the top of my head! LOL

I think the problem relates to AD sites. Set these up correctly and the machines in Glasgow should know where to go to get their mail! I think LOL I am so much help!!!!
