exhaust blowing

ive got a cat back system, and it sounds like my exhaust is blowing

to me it sounds like its blowing from the front pipe (does this sound right) if it is blowing from the front pipe (maybe by the manifold) whats the damage in cost for that.

sorry if the post doesnt make sense but im not tech minded

maybe the gasket on the cat is fooked, that happened to mine.
or your actual cat is fooked.

When car is cold, start up and feel around, you'll feel the air coming out if it's leaking.

Stick a piece of paper over the tailpipe... if the car cuts out its not blowing... if it doesnt cut out then its blowing and you need to find out where from!!

Usual signs are black or white soot like substances around the effected area...

Did they renew the gasget when they changed the exhaust best idea anyway get the car jacked up and leave the engine running and get soemoen to stick there hand over the exhaust and shake it a bit ee where its leaking.

also when i pull away it sounds like a tinny rattle sound i cant describe it on here lol

could be anything from a broken exhaust mount , hole in the exhaust to the cat being damaged ?

When my exhaust was blowing it was a crack in the front end cat pipe. Weld or a de cat is the answer if thats the case.
