Exhaust clamp

Last night the exhaust clamp (fitted by kwik fit) connecting my decat to centre section fell off

I put another one on today the same as the last one but it doesn't seem to fit very well. The exhaust is a BTB system and the flange is quite small so it doesn't tighten up too well.

Are there any places to get a heavy duty clamp that is deeper/better fitting ?

Have seen these but don't know if they are any good ?

try a few exhaust fitters until you find one that's more suitable. sounds as though Kwikfit didn't have any and tried to make do with what they did

I bought one from eBay, far superior to the flimsy job that Renault put on as standard.

That looks exactly the same as what I'm using and it doesn't seem wide or deep enough to effectively clamp the flange on the centre section to the decat.

Think I will give the heavy duty ebay one a go, worth a shot for a fiver.

You should be able to get it to sit right pal, i know what you mean about the small flange! But it is possible!!

have you tried a braided connector?had a mate use one and never had any issues. think bout 15quid ebay last time i looked.

my mates one started blowing the other day where someone had over tightened the clamp, still had his original one that came with the car from new, fitted that with a new bolt and a couple spring washers and it worked perfectly, sealed first time without any sealing compound
