exhaust clamps

Recently had a new centre section fitted, the garage that fitted it said the the clamp that joins centre section>back box was a 'special' clamp and couldn't get a new one without a new back box/rear section

So i said 'try use the old one first', they did but still blows a little. So i jusmped on ebay and found this:

(my cars a 172, not a 182 as ebay add says) Is that the one they are referring to? Do the job?

Nope, you need a sleeve type thing.

The one you've linked to is the cat to middlesection clamp.

can a suitable sleeve be bought from online? or is it a garage job?

Guessing you just measure the diameter of your exhaust, and buy a sleeve of that size?

get a sleeve and a clamp on either end of it then? driveway job then hopefully

the current parts are going slot into one another, does the sleeve go over both parts or is there some cutting involved in it?

If the pieces slot into eachother then you need a U Clamp

Cool, these are easy enough to get hold of! quite why the garage couldn't use one I don't know!
