Guys, is there a gasket between these joints? Or is it just a case of slapping on the fire putty?

You can get high temp silicone sealant from halfords or a motor factors most of the stuff Ive seen is made by loctite.

Does that stuff hold up well? Never actually used anything so far that lasts longer than a day!

I use cheapo high temp black silicone sealant from the motor factors - £3 for a tube that fits into a caulk gun. Rated to 350deg+ or something, works perfectly and never had a problem. Whereas the firegum/paste s*hite just cracks and starts blowing

Reminds me of when I had to use No More Nails in an emergency for an old MOT....

Lasted 45mins :approve:
