Exhaust mount type things

Been investigating my annoying, buzzing, banging exhaust system tonight and think Ive narrowed it down to a badly fitted back box (standard). Its a bit too high and hits against the heat shield. The rubber mountings are also too short for the metal rods that theyre attached to, so they slide along them when turning right causing the box to also hit the left side of the heat shield (as looking from the back of the car).

After a couple of hours messing around, Ive come to the conclusion that plastic cable ties are not going to help the situation. They just melt.

So, where can I get some mounting rubbers that are up to the job. Im going to drive the car off a cliff if I cant stop the frigging exhaust system from sounding like its about to drop off. Am I best paying for someone to do this, or can I just order some decent mounting rubbers online and do it myself?

i took the rear heat shield off, rusty, unsightly and useless.

plus, you save 30grms!!!

Sorted mine yesterday, stoped the decat from blowing and moved the exhaust about 10mm stopped that infernal idle rattle......more like a hammer on teh bottom of the chassis actually.

Now, for my efforts, i have a buzzy rattle at 2550rpm.....bloody great!

You sure? You wouldnt lie to me would you? Its definitely not protecting anything?

Thats odd, 2500 revs is where my buzzy rattle is. Cant figure out where its coming from. Think its from the end of the box towards the front of the car, but really not sure.

yea, the heat sheild over the back box is useless really.

ive traced mine down to the are between the 2 bends. I shounds like its comming from my initial 90 deg bend tapping on the heat shield jsut before the bend, and/or the 2nd bend jsut before it goes over the axle, as i pull it down it stops.

Itll have to go up on some ramps and get an oxy-aceltalene torch on it to bend the hangers down a bit, but im far too lazy.
