Exhaust Mounts

Hi, new to this forum, this is my first post. lol

Just bought a 52 plate 172 cup, and over the weekend, the exhaust twisted and somehow burnt a little hole in my back bumper :dapprove:

I've just bought new rear and centre exhaust mounts to sort the problem for now, but I've bin reading up and I've heard this is a common porblem??

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

how many mounts does the exhaust have?

and how would you suggest I solve this problem in the future?

Where have you purchased the replacement exhaust mounts from?

OEM exhaust mounts dont last very long, but there are places you can purchase them from that use better rubbers?

Not sure on the 172 mate but a 182 has two rear exhaust mounts for the back boxes, then one just behind the back boxes and one near the Resonator.

I've bought some cheap ones off ebay, lol, wasnt a gd idea im thinkin now lol.

I seen a post on here about bodging an old rear mount with a new powerflex rubber and some cable ties?? think im gone have a go with me old mount once ive replaced it.

I've only bought a rear mount and a centre mount atm, ill jack the thing up on the weekend and check for others.

Just wondering if ne1 knew exactly how many i needed so i could buy them all now...

I packed mine with black silicone. worked fine till now (done it one month ago)

FYI my bodge is still going strong and has not moved from the day I fitted them with my new exhaust.

Ok, can't find the thread again, what size bush did u use to fit within the old mount?
Hope the word bodging didnt cause to much offence btw, just a word i use in work alot
