Exhaust Q

Yesterday i had the car on the ramp at home jus being nosey and looking underneith when i noticed water drippping from in between the cat and manifold (i think its the manifold, its the cat and something), is it just a case of changing the gasket and maybe some sealent?

Change of Oil

Any one know the size of the tool needed to undo the sump plug? and how the hell do i get to the filter?

Mine does that too. I guess its a poor seal

8mm square for the sump plug.

ok thanks, is it going to affect performance in anyway? its a magnex system so is a bit louder than norm and i cant really tell if its blowing from there!?

The sump plug is 6mm from memory. The oil filter is on the front of the block, you will have to remove the fuel rail guard 2X 10mm bolts (iirc) to get easy access. The join from the cat the the centre section is not a very good match, the gasket from renault is not much, some aftermarket exhaust fitters dont bother replacing/refitting it.

Oh yeah it is 8mm not sure what i was thinking of.

You can remove the oil filter with either a strap wrench or chain wrench without having to remove any other parts, bit of a squeeze but loads easier than having to take things to pieces.
