Expensive oils!

  Ph1 track 172
Are they REALLY worth the money??
i mean it all comes from the same hole in the ground, and many of them are refined in the same places. The only difference is in whats added by the different companies!
and im sure a lot of them are just over marketed bull turd!

on an old 100k miler, is it really worth splashing out on expensive oil?? or just go for the cheaper stuff and change it more regularly?? (twice a year/every 3-4k)??

feel free to discuss,

I didn't go for massively expensive, largely because after talking to Jord at FCS, he's never run expensive oil in his mk1, that takes an absolute battering, so I'm just running fully synth 5w40 and will change it every 6k

As long as the oil is the correct grade and sae then any brand is ok. Regular oil changes are a must though depending on your mileage.

cheaper oils will normally degrade quicker and not be quite as good at coping with very high on track temperatures. For normal use, as long as the appropriate SAE grade is used then there's no issue
