Expert desperately needed!!

Car  182 FF
Steering angle sensor / abs / tc light as usual!!

I know this has been done to death but I can't find a definitive answer in any thread!

I've had the usual TC, abs and serv light on for well over a year now. I've had the tracking set twice and replaced the squid and steering angle sensor with no luck. I don't think I've fitted it wrong as there isn't too much scope to screw it up

I've cracked the Rs tuner onto it and the only fault coming up is the steering angle sensor

Switching the ignition on and off gets rid of the abs light but it will come on again next time I drive the car.

Can anyone confirm if the SAS is car specific and/or if it needs to actually be calibrated on clip?

Mystery prize if anyone can solve the problem!!

I've reset the brake switch, but always thought that came up with its own fault code?

its been to a supposed renault 'specialist' who couldn't calibrate it either

Cracked ABS ring, duff ABS sensor, faulty steering wheel squib (if you move them prior to fitting you'll nause it up)

Best thing to do would be to take it to someone like MicKPM to get it diagnosed properly. No point in buying loads of bits for it until you now what the fault is.

Was the clockspring a new part from Renault ? It can still be faulty if it is genuine, live data can confirm the steering angle sensor is working. Alternatively it could be a cracked ABS ring

I have these lights on, my problem is a f#*ked rack.

Grab hold of a wheel with both of them in the air & go full lock to lock & listen to the rack for any noise.

It was from renparts so no guarantees it was working!

Would a knackered rack cause a big enough difference between the steering angle reading and the actual?

Is it only clip that can read the live steering angle data or could I buy the Rs tuner live data module to see the read out?

Thanks all, this is literally the most frustrating fault with clios, the forum is littered with these threads!!

Now to find a decent garage with clip near me!

If your s/wheel is noticeably off centre, then it might be the rack if not, then it's most likely to be something else.
