Extra Work When Lowering 172

R

rich[182]

Am planning lowering between 25-35mm, Is there any other things to check/change after ?

ie camber, toe, tracking etc ?

rear braking bias valve thingy ? Used to have a Fiesta RS Turbo and it had a rear braking proportional bias valve/spring which had to be reset to compensate for lowering

I have had problem with my 172 when I lowered it 30mm on H&R springs. My brake bias put too much effort to the rear brakes which messed it up totally. On my car there is no adjustable valve - it is all sorted by a load sensor in the ecu (from what I remember) - Even Nick Hill didnt know what to do.

I sorted it in the end by uprating the front discs/pads which put the balance back to F70% R30% or there abouts. More costly than Id intended but stops on a pin now!

Only mentioned this so you can check before lowering. I think most Mk2s have adjustable valves. I had no probs with tracking. Camber is out slightly but that always happens when you lower cars I think
