I can't understand why they do this sh*t...

...messenger won't open unless I update it to the latest version.

Whenever I click "no" to updating to the latest version, it fails to connect to the internet.


Surely they can't do this? They can't FORCE people to update?

Is there a way round this?

Having issues with the whole msn messenger thing here.

Every time i update it runs slower and slower.

do you not use windows live messenger?

I've had that over a year, no real problems..

Everyone appears to be having the same problem.

Fix:

*Right click on your MSN 7.5 shortcut, and go on properties
*Under compatibility mode, tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
*Select Windows 2000
*Click OK
*Run the shortcut

This problem is only for people using versions older than Live.


They want us to upgrade so we get the pleasure of all the new integrated advert shite that they added into Live.

When there is physically no other choice but to update to Live I will A-patch all the b****cks out of it...

That said, Ive tried Live a few times, and even with all the shite removed it still runs like s**t, and my PC is hardly shite either.
