Faded driver seat in 07 Clio 197

  197
Hi all,

the side of my drivers seat near the door is faded and wearing fairly badly from where the previous owner used to get in and out, I've tried to be more careful when getting in but it still seems to be getting worse.

Has anyone else suffered the same problem?

Thanks

Hiya, sorry whats iirc?
They are the recarro type standard 197 seats.

I'm seeing the warranty man in the garage tomorrow so thats why I'm trying to get armed up before I speak to him!

Thanks for any help

iirc is if is remember/recall correctly.
And yes a lot of people have had wear to the recaros.
There seems to be a mix on how long people have waited to have them replaced though so hopefully you have a good dealer that will sort it quickly.
They shouldn't kick up a fuss about it as it is a known issue to them.

Mine are showing very slight wear, no fading, so I guess I was lucky with the previous owner. If they get any worse though so it's noticeable it'll be straight down there. If they kick up a fuss at the dealership - who do I tell them to ring to tell the dealer it's a known problem and they should change them?

Matt - did you win the ones on eBay? The Recaros? They were a mad bargain.

Timmay - I beleive the seats are supplied to Renault as is, an as far as I know Recaro aren't a French company. You can blame Renault for the stupid material choice though...

If you get yourself over on the renaultsport.co.uk forum there is a big thread about 9 pages long that people have used to show the dealers if they kick up a fuss and it has worked.
But most people haven't had much/any trouble, not from what i have read over there anyway.

Great stuff, I spoke to the chap at the garage today and he said hes going to get back to me tomorrow. If they start to be a pain I'll use it straight away.

Thanks all
