Complete alot of quests in the town, good deeds, dont shoot innocents etc.

Work computer loves taking 30 minutes to run a query on a database of 500,000 records, cant do anything else but leave internet open or i may crash it

i currently cant get past all the vault dwellers, my armour is poor and im never sure which weapon to use

right im in Vault 34, i get to a door which says the armoury, i go through that, it loads to some stairs, i go down the stairs and get nailed by about 6+ vault dwellers of different types, ive tried running around to avoid them and i can make it to a door but its locked and requires a key, reading online i need to find the overseer ?

where is he !!!

There are 2 underwater sections in the vault, you need to be quick to swim through, there will be a body in each section with a passcode on it. You then need to turn the pump on near the armoury, return to one of the flooded areas which are now empty. There is a computer in it to unlock the door to the overseers office, in there you will find him. Kill him , take hes password and use his computer to unlock the armoury door.

Sorry i also forgot to mention that Vault 34 is pure radiation lol.

If you do one of the missions for the Boomers, they give you a device that lets you breathe underwater for an indefinite period. You get to keep it after.

Spoiler Maybe: Enter Benny's room, not the penthouse, his actual room on the 17th(I think) floor, there is an elevator in the middle of the ones that dont work., go to the back of the room into a secret room and talk to Mr. Yes, He will start you off on a quest line.

Yes and yes. You want to be going down not up. Back in Goodsprings go in the bar and talk to Sunny Smiles, do a couple of training quests with her then you'll get the option to help either a gang or an individual in the town. This will then lead on to other quests south of Goodsprings. I've played for 4 hours and on level 5 now.

Made some ammo last night but the menu is still bloody confusing.

It's a f**king time vampire, thought I play for an extra 15 minutes at about 10pm last night, next thing I looked at the clock it was midnight. Just got to Novac and rented a room, finding bits for ED-E.

The guide is awesome, as it gives you a page by page tour of each settlement and location, so you don't miss anything while you're there (Caps, skill books, unique items etc.)

Also, about this Old Lady Bishop... SPOILER WARNER :

So, I got a quest off her yesterday and then accidentally shot one of her dogs (Rex, I think it was). Anyway, she gets up out of bed and starts going off on one. So I shot her, too. She be dead. I looted her body... oh my. Big Boomer shotgun, worth 2500 caps. Neato. I loved the Terrible Shotgun on F3, so this is probably right up my street. However, I did reload from before I shot her, as after a bit of research, she apparently has more quests on offer, including one regarding her dog (which I'd just shot). So, at least I know now that she has a unique weapon for later. Also, it's pretty easy to pickpocket her and get the key for the box she keeps in the garage.

Oh, and while I was on my travels :

Finally got to Novac, and spoke to Cliff in the store. That guy is a loonatic. He buys Frag Grenades for 105 caps each!! You can seriously make a fortune from him by collecting or picking up grenades from ammo boxes and selling them on to him. It was worth it, too, as he has a unique weapon in his arsenal - That Gun. It's close to 1000 caps, but I ended up making more money than that as I also beat him at a game of Caravan. I also pickpocketted him and got the storeroom key, loaded up on about 500 or so Dinky Dinosaur toys and then sold them back to him! PMSL. They were worth f*ck all, but even so. Also met Vargas and Boone. Got his special beret so now I'm doing a side mission for him.

I've got That Gun, probably my most used in the game so far, it takes a while to reload but is pretty effective.

Isn't Rex a companion like Dogmeat was? I found Novac too last night but had to go to bed in the end before I could explore. Spoke to guy in the dinosaur, just gotta wait till night for Boone. Will try out the grenade thing as I read up on That Gun a while ago and want it.

Yeah I think Rex is a companion, hence why I restarted from an earlier save. That and the quests you can do for Bishop.

Vargas is on patrol in Novac during the day and Boone is on shift at night, like you say. I just spoke to Vargas, hit the Select button on my 360 controller and just selected to wait for 7 hours. LOL. Then went back through the door and spoke to Boone. Sorted.

Think you're around where I am, actually. Also, yes, I thought I'd play for an extra few minutes at 10pm, and looked at my phone and it was 11:40pm. LOL.

He's up in the garage, suprised you haven't found him yet if you killed the Powder Gangers. I think he's only a side quest anyway. You need to head to Primm which is South.

The game is great, I'm sure, if I could play it properly. My controls on the xbox are fucked, but only when playing this :S

The movement controls are supposed to be as follows:
Left stick = move around
Right stick=Look around

but for me it's:
Left stick=look around
right stick=move around

I've tried everything, swapping round the default movement sticks on my profile; even creating new non-live profile. None of it works. Anyone got any suggestions before I throw the cnuting thing out of the window?

Finally got it working, had to create a brand new profile of my hard drive - strange.

Only played it for about an hour or so, awesome so far, hardcore mode is a decent addition. Playing it exactly like I did on FO3, a goodie-two-shoes but at the same time a thieving cnut :approve:
