With regards to wheteher to f**k Mr' house over or not...
After reading the guide it will apparently play a big part for the rest of the game depending on what you do here, so my advice wouldbe to save the game as soon as you get to vegas - then you can do as you please.
I started this again last night. So glad I did as i'm in a much better position both money wise, skill wise and weapons wise. The main stats i've focused on is lock pick, speech,sneak, medicine and vvarious weapon skills. I took a perk that lets me find more caps when im' scavenging as well. I found 150 caps in one desk I looked in!
I'm going to form an aliance with house my first time around playing this. In the future though I think I will betray him. There are so many options you have at this point in the game
Do you go with house?
Go with Benny?
Do you kill benny & house and go independant?
Decisions decisions!
All in all though, although i'm only through act1 im thoroughly enjoying the game! Any one who hasn't got the game should definitely look into it. Gives you all the consequences of the speech choices which enables you to make an informed decision

Bit of an update...
I killed House, sided with the NCR, removed the knobhead at The Kings, got The Boomers on our side, destroyed the Great Khans and removed the bosses at the Gomorrah.
So glad my save game crashed now, weirdly. I have such a more rounded character this time around. Currently Lv15 and 15 hours in.
Next I've got to head over to the Brotherhood of Steel and either get them on side, or destroy them.
I've picked up a few unique weapons so far, too.

Did the Boone stuff last night. That shopkeeper in the dinosaur is one thick s**t. I waited a few hours until he went then picked the door lock. Stole That Gun, waited a few hours until he was back, sold it back to him, waited a few hours, stole it again, sold it back then stole it again.
Made my way with Boone and came across a s**t load of Nightstalkers, at which point Boone decided to faint and leave me to get raped by 7 of the f*****s and some golden geckos. Pussy MF. Went to Boulder city and rescued the NCR's so have the Khans after my ringpiece. Just on my way to find Benny.
I seem to be levelling up quickly and it seems fairly easy mission wise. Still not found any Deathclaws yet though thankfully.

I'm levelling up something chronic, but have barely a cap to my name, need to start selling off all the tat I've stockpiled in Novac!
Maybe a mission out with all my tat to a campfire is in order, although some of the ingredients for the big-ticket items I haven't found once yet.
ANyone found any Nuka Cola Quantum? I've found a Victory so far, or is that the "Special" Nuka for this game?

i didnt realise what was happening at first lol i just heard "DUM DUM" then realised
I need some help, been stuck now for a few hours and dont know how to progress forward, current quests on the go are:
- ED-E My Love (cant do havnt got science/repair up to 75)
- My Kind of town (need a sheriff, but cant find him in NCR base, repogram slimm, cant not got enough repair or whatever he needs)
-Ring-a-ding-ding (confront benny at the tops, cant get in to vegas yet)
So im screwed at the moment, anyone got any tips how to move forward, as all im doing now is trying to find stuff to kill to gain XP to level up

ED_E My love - You can collect parts and fix him without skills, parts are scavengable
My Kind of Town - If you've got a powder ganger outfit, go to the correctional facility, the other sheriff option in there is easy to find. As for the NCR geez, your pip-boy and HUD should point you right at him.
RIng a ding ding - I'm guessing you haven;t got the caps or the science to get onto the strip? would some mentats and a skill mag help?

You can also get into Vegas with an NCR outfit which you can get from a house in Primm to the far left of the main building.

I powered up the weapon, you can find the control for it elsewhere(basically a laser pointer). At which point you can use the weapon. It is an orbital laser I mean seriously who doesn't want that?

I've been trying to get this one done over the last few days, its not straightforward that's for sure!
I think it's the following:
Talk to Yes Man first
Kill Benny
Talk to Yes Man again
Disable House, Not Kill Him - Unfortunately I killed him last night so this is as far as I've got
Talk To Yes Man
Guide isn't a good read, it's daunting!
And, unless you're some sort of candy-ass, Hardcore is the ONLY way
THe "tutorial" quests are handy, get you up a level and a basic rifler

I've installed yes man in mr house's place. I'm now heading over to the legion - Think i'm going to raid the plasma weapons shop in freeside first though :approve:
Anyone done the rocket factory mission for the dino sniper in Novac? The first gouls weren't so bad, but when you're sent down into the basement to kill the "demons" I screamed like a girl, its not fair they shouldn't be allowed to use stealth boys Heroically after I ran out crying, I psyced myself back up and ran in shooting everything that moved.

Anyone recommend any good side quests? I've done all the ones I've discovered, and I only have the main quest available, which I want to do every now and then.
Wander around, find new areas - most places have quests assigned to them.
