Checked out some spark plugs, and got this info, what do you rekon is the best for the FP7?

Dear Mr **********,

Thank you for your enquiry.

NGK list BKR6EK priced at £3.11 as the standard spark plug for your vehicle.

The NGK Iridium equivalent is BKR6EIX priced at £7.52 per plug and can be found on page...

http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/pricing/ngk_iridium.htmUhttp://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/pricing/ngk_iridium.htm/U

Alternatively the Denso Iridium equivalent is IK20 priced at £10.88 per plug and can be found on page...

http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/pricing/denso_iridium.htmUhttp://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/pages/pricing/denso_iridium.htm/U

Both, NGK BKR6EIX and Denso IK20 are currently in stock.

The difference between the Denso and NGK iridiums lies in the centre electrode... Denso use a 0.4mm Iridium tipped centre electrode - claimed to be the worlds smallest production centre electrode, where NGKs is 0.6mm. As with NGK Iridium, and indeed most other spark plugs, the narrower the centre electrode is, the lower the potential difference (voltage) that is required to jump the gap between centre and ground electrodes. It follows that the Denso plug will require an even lower spark jump voltage than the NGK plug. The Denso plug also utilises a u-grooved ground electrode which is claimed to aid in the production of a flame core which further improves the combustion process. In theory, all the benefits offered by the NGK Iridium are further improved by the Denso Iridium with the exception of service life. The smaller diameter of the Denso centre electrode means that less wear can take place before the plugs optimum service life is exceeded. NGK estimates are up to 60000 miles for cars, whereas Denso estimate 30000 miles, although this is subject to application of course.

With regard to postage, we cover shipping for orders over £10 to anywhere in the UK, there is however a nominal charge of £3 for our European clients and £5 to ship to anywhere else in the world.

I hope this helps, if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

Rebecca Dolan.

id go with the NGKs...........there spark plugs and as long as your getting a good spark and good reliability out of them, which you would with an NGK Iridium, then thats all that matters and i cant see the Denso being worth the extra.......

The std plug.

You have no reason at all to use iridium..............the ONLY benefit you will see is a longer service life, you wont encounter any mixture or pressure conditions that will prevent a burn from being initiated.

So, do you want to pay 40 quid for plugs or 10 quid.

Plus, they will get all skanky with the oil that leaks and if anything goes wrong your jsut wasting money.

I got NGK BKR6EK. Might get the oil from halfords as they are doing Magnetec for 14quid for 4.5L!

how do u seal the gasket to stop oil leaking in , do u just buy that silicone stuff in a tube and squirt some around the top of the 4 holes , so the plastic cover will stick to it ?
