On Saturday my alarm (which has never worked), went off randomly, I couldn't stop it, and then randomly it stopped...

Since then, my two indicator "arrows" on the dash clocks won't go out. They're always a little bit alight, not fully illuminated, (as when you indicate, they still come on brighter etc)

So, has anyone got ANY idea what's causing this?? I have recently fitted a ph2 dash, but haven't touched the wiring for the clocks bar unplugging them and plugging them back in...

It sounds like a silly issue, but I'm quite worried it's going to drain my battery...

Help.

Seems like a short along the lines somewhere, they are getting a small amount of power from something, which is causing them to light up a little.. You tried unplugging the clocks etc and plugging back in? You been fiddling with any other wires?

Only thing I've played with is the 13 wires that go to the AC panel, I need to take that panel out and neaten them all right up. I'm going to crack on it tomorrow. Surely that can't do anything?? Right?

I'll try to unplug them and plug them back in next weekend at FCS... I'm sure the amount of power won't be kiling the battery, right?

Shouldnt really affect it tbh, check for exposed wires etc, it shouldnt do much to the battery...

Meh, thing is, all this does only seem to be happening after I played with the wires there.. I'll take a good look I guess, I think it may be alarm related tbh, as that's connected to the indicators..

Cheers mate.

How do I disconnect the alarm? Serious question.

Only reason I ask is surely if you unplug the alarm the car won't start? Or isn't it set up that that?

Is it just a case of unplugging the box that's on top of the glovebox??

Yup, and then the siren in the skuttle if that doesn't help. It nothing to do with the immobiliser its just a CAT1 upgrade piggyback alarm.

Excellent, I'll remove that today then. Did wonder where the b*****d siren was when it was going off the other day, have you got to remove the windscreen wipers to get to it??

Thanks mate :)

Unfortunately yes, they can be a barsteward to break off the splines too. It sits underneath the wiper motor and there should be a plastic cover over it to stop water dripping into it but they still can end up suffering water ingress.

Well surely I can just leave the siren in place and remove the rest?

Is it just a case of unplugging everything from the box that's velcro'd to the top of the glove box then mate? Thanks.

You could, just depends if thats whats causing it first. But yes just disconnect the control module and see what happens.
