FAO Matt, Fred, BenR, etc (engine mount prob)

  BMW 330d :)
How easy is it to stop the engine/gearbox moving about?? A mechanic friend put it up on the ramps, realigned and tightened the top engine mounts which helped a bit, but they seem to have loosened off again. :( This creates a banging/reverberation when pulling away and accelerating hard in most gears..

Was thinking about the ktec uprated lower engine mounts, the renault garage supposedly replaced the top ones but it doesnt seem to have made any difference!

Any ideas?? This is really bugging me now...

the powerflex jobbie i don't rate, it stops the bottom of the engine moving, but that then causes the top of the engine to move

we run all 4 standard mounts, compltley boggo, check the upper gearbox one (under the battery, and the battery tray itself, they're prone to snapping where it bolts to the shock turret)

drivers side mount, slacken it off, 'pull' or leaver the engine forwards, then as its still being leavered forward, re-do up the mount. That worked for me, i also have the k-tec dogbone mount

that stopped all banging on harsh acceleration in 1st etc

Cheers guys I might give it a shot. The renault garage def took the battery out as my radio lost all its stations..... But I dont know why it was ok for so long and is hard now to get it back to how it should be sounding... :( Gutting...

Might just chop it in for an s2 elise :D (Been saying that for months)
