FAO Of all 182 owners who have changed suspension

all those people who have lowered their 182 suspension, can you tell me what kits you used? how the ride quality, harshness, compares to standard, and how if atall it has improved your handling? i ask as i am trying to decide what best way to lower mine when i get it. thanks

I've sampled several on mine its been an annoying and costly exercise but im finally happy. H&R's are the b****cks. Ride is bang on, handling is great and i wont be changing from this kit.

apex on mine, ride is fine in my opinion, little bit firmer but thats about it....good drop too! :) good handling.

for £80-90 you carnt go wrong really. just watch the speed bumps(stating the obvious)

although have non-cuped 182's got different shocks?

non cupped 182s run the same fitment shocks are 172s yes. But springs fit either the difference is the bolt positioning on the bottom of the strut where it attaches to the hub carrier.

I am a little confused do you mean non cupped 182s will run the same standard/after market shocks as the 172 only and a cupped 182 is totally different??

Rob.

Bascially. The OE items may be different between the 172 and non cup 182s in terms of damping rates etc but the aftermarket kits fit on fine. Difference on cupped 182s is the track is different so the struts are different too.

ledas on a cupped 182.

cant fault them. you can have them as soft as standard or so hard you do well to keep the car on the road.

I think I have a setting I like now firm with minimal roll but not crashy over bumps.

Shocking! I really thought the whole 182 range was different to the 172..
So If a non cupped 182 was looking to change its shocks it could only look at fitting ones which are available for the 172 not 182?? So this would also mean coilovers etc??

Cheers

182 cup, H&R coilovers. i would go as far to say the ride is BETTER than standard.

only draw back is you have to really take alot off the front bumper bracket to stop it rubbing.

The clio 172/182 is quite firm anyway so i'd imagine it wont be too much of a hike going to coilovers
