FAO V6 Owners - V6 Servicing

  German Barge
My car is currently on 11,200 miles 02 Reg Mk1 V6.

It was serviced (stamped) by renault at 6000 miles.

Correct me if im wrong are the service intervals every 12,000 miles, and is it wise during that time to have an oil change i.e. every 6,000 miles.

Thanks in advance.

Any other key information would also be handy i.e. cambelt at 60,000? etc etc.

Simple answer look in your manual.

Mine is quite clear, you have an A & B service, A =12,000 miles and B = 36,000 miles.

Oil change for special conditions every 6,000 miles or at least once per year. (low mileage cars come under this in my view)

Timing belt = 72,000 miles or 5 years cost can be expensive £750 and above. Note that this is a max value of time, short journies etc should reduce these time spans etc

cheers john, i know its a simple answer, but i was just wondering if there was more to it than "the manual"... as i want to keep it tip top, and if there is a way to ensure this, bar the servicing guide, then i would do it.

Its ever 12k or 2 years.
I'd personally change the oil ever 6k/ 6month whicherevers sooner.
Cambelt is 72k and its expensive I think as the enine no much space so I think they drop it out.

My manual does not state a time limit for the A or B Service.

Oil change "Special Conditions" Renault recommends an oil change every 6,000 miles or at least once a year.

From this I would suggest an A or B Service should be yearly.

I use the car every day so car serviced at 12,000 intervals, also all journies long so all parts get up to temperatue.

i'd get the cambelt done 10k miles or 12 months early if it was mine just to be on the safe side.

You will probably have a Mk2 by then thou ;)

Goes in for its first service in 700 miles then, fingers crossed.
